Ivy Tech Community College Selects Ethan Heicher as Chancellor of Ivy Tech Kokomo

KOKOMO, IN – Ivy Tech Community College has selected Ethan Heicher as the next Chancellor for its Kokomo campus.

Heicher, who has served as Ivy Tech Kokomo’s Interim Chancellor since January, was previously the campus’s Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. He has been with the College since 2009, where he began as a professor of English and chair of the Humanities program.

“Ethan’s leadership will be crucial in supporting the community’s economic and workforce development initiatives,” said Dr. Sue Ellspermann, President of Ivy Tech. “I look forward to supporting Ethan as he leads the Kokomo service area and seeing his leadership spur more growth and innovation that translates into high wage, high-demand careers for our students.”

“The role of Ivy Tech has evolved to meet the everchanging needs of the Kokomo region, but its mission to serve the community has remained the same,” said Heicher. “I would like to thank President Ellspermann and Provost Dean McCurdy for their leadership, as well as my colleagues and our community partners for their daily reminder of what a mission-driven community college can do.”

Ethan has over 21 years of instructional and administrative experience at community colleges and currently serves as a member of the Kokomo area’s Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) grant planning committee.
