Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Indiana supports Ivy Tech students Across the State

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Grand Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Indiana, Inc. announced a philanthropic gift of over $700,000 to the Ivy Tech Foundation. The gift will fund a $520,000 Endowed Scholarship to support students who have experienced the death of one or both parents before the age of 18 or who have experienced the death of a spouse. The scholarship will support students at South Bend/Elkhart, Ft. Wayne, Kokomo, Lafayette, Marion, Muncie, Anderson, Indianapolis, Terre Haute, Columbus, Bloomington, Madison, Sellersburg, and Evansville campuses, and will be made available beginning in the fall of 2022.

“Ivy Tech is grateful for this generous gift that will aid students when life presents momentary barriers to their educational journey,” said Ivy Tech Foundation President Courtney Roberts. “This scholarship will mean a great deal to many Ivy Tech students across the state, and we’re looking forward to seeing the positive results for our students.”

The additional funds will provide for IvyCares, which offers financial coaching, community resource referrals, free mental health counseling, a food pantry, and ad hoc emergency financial assistance to Ivy Tech students.

Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Indiana Grand Master Kathy Reed said, “The Odd Fellows are very pleased to be able to help so many students in Indiana through this gift to Ivy Tech, both now and into the future.”
