Ivy Tech Chancellor Dr. David Bathe appointed Vice President of Finance for national workforce education board

dr-david-batheIvy Tech Community College Lafayette Chancellor Dr. David Bathe has been appointed Vice President of Finance for the National Council for Workforce Education (NCWE). As an affiliate council of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), NCWE provides a national forum for administrators and faculty in workforce education and basic skills. Dr. Bathe joined the NCWE board in June 2017.

As Vice President of Finance, Dr. Bathe serves on the Executive Committee and oversee financial operations of the organization. As a member of the board, he continues to help make policy recommendations to support workforce education initiatives across the country and advocate for policy and legislation that support workforce and economic development and job training.

“I am honored to join the executive leadership of a national organization committed to student success and excellence in education,” said Dr. Bathe. “Through NCWE, Ivy Tech will have the opportunity to participate in initiatives and influence legislation that will have a positive impact on the workforce education programs we offer in the Lafayette service area.”

Dr. Bathe has been Chancellor of the Ivy Tech Lafayette service area since 2004. He previously served Ivy Tech Lafayette as Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs beginning in 1999. Under his leadership, sites in Crawfordsville, Monticello and Frankfort were established, and several key programs were created that supported the workforce in the Greater Lafayette area including biotechnology, chemical technology and agriculture.

Dr. Bathe serves on several boards including the Community College Alliance for Agriculture Advancement, Wabash Heartland Innovation Network, Greater Lafayette Commerce and City of Lafayette Economic Development Commission. He is an honorary commander of the 434th Operation Group, Grissom Air Reserve Base.
