Ivy Tech Community College has named Mary Anne Sloan as vice president for healthcare, assuming the role on Monday, September 11.
In this role, Sloan will be responsible for the Schools of Health Sciences and Nursing. She will provide professional leadership in the development of quality standards, and consistency in academic courses, training, and other programs, to serve the healthcare sector.
“I am excited, and truly honored, for the opportunity to work with healthcare employers and faculty,” said Sloan. “I look forward to working with Ivy Tech students and providing them with the foundation they need to succeed in today’s demanding healthcare environment.”
Most recently, Sloan served as a vice president at Thomas P. Miller and Associates (TPMA). She was responsible for the development of relationships, and providing services, within the healthcare and public health sectors and had direct responsibility for the Economic Development business line. She was also the subject matter expert in systems engineering, healthcare, healthcare workforce, and public health and higher education corporate relations and innovation.
Prior to TPMA, Sloan was at Purdue University for eight years, with roles including managing director, Office of Corporate and Global Affairs, and director, Purdue Healthcare Advisors. She was also employed with United Healthcare and Arnett Health Plans, both in Lafayette, Ind.
In her career, Sloan served as a nurse and commissioned officer in the United States Navy, both on active duty and in the reserves, achieving the rank of lieutenant commander.

In April 2014, Sloan was awarded the School of Nursing “Golden Nugget” Award from Purdue University, and in April 2010, awarded the Career Achievement Award from the Purdue University School of Nursing. She is on the Board of Directors, and the Governance Committee Chair, for Indiana Intern.Net, and on the Board of Directors for the Greater Lafayette United Way.
Sloan earned her Masters of Business Administration/Health Care Management degree from University of Phoenix, and her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Purdue University. She is a licensed registered nurse (RN) by the State of Indiana.
