Ivy Tech Foundation ranks 1st nationally in fundraising for eighth straight year

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For eight consecutive years, the Ivy Tech Foundation has ranked as the top fundraiser among community college systems nationwide, according to a survey conducted by the Council for Aid to Education.

The 2016 Voluntary Support for Education (VSE) survey reported that Ivy Tech raised more than $18.6 million through the Ivy Tech Foundation, the college’s fundraising arm, ranking it first among U.S. community colleges. The amount of money raised exceeds the second place community college by 47%.

“We are so thankful for our donors that have made not only this last year possible, but for making our last decade of fundraising so successful,” said John M. Murphy, Ivy Tech Foundation President. “Ivy Tech can continue to serve our students and our communities with such a large impact, and offer financial support in areas that need it most. We will continue to pursue ambitious goals and initiatives so we can increase our ability to assist students.”

In the past ten years, the Ivy Tech Foundation has raised over $200 million in charitable contributions. With an annual student enrollment of nearly 170,000, Ivy Tech is able to draw from a large network of donors and community supporters who recognize Ivy Tech’s impact on Indiana’s economy, workforce and community.

“Ivy Tech Foundation and regional Development leadership teams are doing a great job of telling the stories of our students and informing our communities of the College’s needs, with respect to training, education and workforce development,” said Kevin Ahaus, Chairperson, Ivy Tech Foundation Board of Directors. “This information and perspective helps donors see how they can impact their local communities. I am proud to serve on the board that helps guide this effort.”

The Voluntary Support for Education survey is the authoritative national source of information on private giving to higher education and private K-12 schools.
