INDIANAPOLIS – The state aid deadline for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is on March 10, 2017. Students who wish to qualify for state aid to help pay for higher education should file before the March 10 deadline to qualify for the 2017-2018 academic year.
This year the FAFSA opened on October 1, 2016 and will use 2015 IRS 1040 tax returns, W-2 Forms and other 2015 income and benefits information to identify whether a student is qualified to receive aid. Students who worked in 2015 should have their income information ready in addition to their parents, if applicable.
State aid includes grants, scholarships, loans and work-study opportunities for many students – opportunities that are essential in continuing an education.
For additional information concerning the FAFSA, or to file, go to fafsa.ed.gov.
