Ivy Tech Community College names Jeff Fanter to VP for Student Experience, Communications and Marketing and Jeff Terp to Executive VP and COO

Ivy Tech Community College President Thomas J. Snyder announced the naming of Jeff Fanter as the school’s Vice President for Student Experience, Communications & Marketing.  Fanter, who has been with the Community College for the last ten years, has been serving in the role of Vice President for Enrollment, Communications & Marketing since 2007 and also in an interim role as the Vice President for Student Affairs since July.
“Jeff will lead our statewide efforts in ensuring that our students have a positive and productive experience through the recruitment and enrollment process and while they are students here at Ivy Tech.  He will manage a variety of the College’s functional areas outside of the classroom from the brand and marketing of the College to our traditional student affairs efforts,”  Ivy Tech President Thomas J. Snyder said.  “We continue to streamline our leadership in a variety of areas to ensure efficiencies and we are pleased that Jeff will be taking on this increased leadership role.”
The Office of the President has now developed one team that will include all of the Community College’s intake processes along with many of the student affairs experiences for the current student body.  The various intake processes include the front end branding and marketing of the College leading to the recruitment, admissions and enrollment of the students. This includes the recently launched Express Enrollment Centers on numerous campuses across the state.  Functional areas including student records and financial aid will be a part of this new student experience team being led by Fanter.  Traditional student affairs operations and student life opportunities will also be a part of this streamlined approach as will career services and student placement.  In addition, Fanter will continue to oversee the College’s statewide virtual Success/Help Center along with internal/external communications and media/public relations efforts.
“I look forward to working with regional Chancellors, Vice Chancellors, directors and faculty and staff to continue to learn how we can make the experience as positive as possible for the student and as effective as possible for the staff.  I certainly am grateful for the opportunity Ivy Tech has provided me to work with so many passionate and helpful people who I have learned a lot from, ”  Fanter said.  “I am dedicated to continuing to tell our Ivy Tech story and the success stories of our students.  I look forward to working with the terrific team here in the Office of the President as we focus our efforts on ensuring the success of our students.”
Fanter joined Ivy Tech in 2003, in the Central Indiana region’s marketing department.  Two years later, he led the efforts in the development of the College’s first statewide marketing/recruitment campaign and the launch of the Ivy Tech Community College brand.  Later efforts resulted in a full scale fulfillment operation in addition to a seven-day a week, 18-hour hour a day call center.  Today Ivy Tech, through these efforts, sends more than one million recruitment and retention communications a month to various student audiences.
In addition to naming Fanter to his new role, Snyder also announced Jeff Terp as Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer.  Terp has been with the College for the last nine years and most recently served as Senior Vice President for Engagement and Institutional Efficiency.
