Brenton Promoted to Ivy Tech Southwest’s Executive Director of Human Resources

EVANSVILLE, IN – Marilyn Brenton has been promoted to Executive Director of Human Resources for Ivy Tech Community College’s Southwest region.

Brenton holds a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Evansville and expects to complete a master’s degree in Public Administration in 2014 from the University of Southern Indiana. She holds a Professional in Human Resources Certification as well as a Microsoft Office Specialist Master’s level Certification.

Brenton was previously employed as Assistant Director of Human Resources at Ivy Tech Southwest. While employed with the College, Brenton has been the recipient of a number of honors. In 2009 she was the recipient of the Ivy Tech Staff Award for Excellence, in 2011 she was the recipient of Honor and Distinction as a Fellow in Ivy Tech’s Leadership Academy and in 2012 was named Outstanding Committee Member/Chair. In 2010, Brenton earned the Excellence Award from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development.

Brenton is the President of the USI Masters of Public Administration Society, a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, and a member of the Evansville Human Resources Association.

“Marilyn has been a vital part of our HR team for several years and we look forward to the innovation she’ll bring to her new leadership role,” said Ivy Tech Chancellor Dr. Dan Schenk.
