Ivy Tech Community College Joins ASQ as Enterprise Member

Faculty, staff and students to benefit from world’s leading authority on quality

Milwaukee, Wis., April 30, 2013 — Ivy Tech Community College — Indiana’s largest public post-secondary institution — has joined ASQ as an Enterprise Member, providing the college’s staff, faculty and students unprecedented access to ASQ’s global network of experts and resources.

Ivy Tech is the first and only higher education institution to join ASQ as an Enterprise Member, joining 51 global companies like Cummins, Xerox, Ford Motor Company, and The Coca-Cola Company. Enterprise Membership affords ASQ-member benefits to all employees at all company locations. Ivy Tech has 31 degree-granting locations with classes offered in more than 75 communities throughout Indiana.

“Our membership with ASQ is critical to creating a culture of quality in Indiana. We are proud to be aligned with ASQ and plan to develop more quality training and certification programs embedding ASQ certifications into our academic curriculum as appropriate,” Thomas Snyder, president, Ivy Tech Community College said.

“Ivy Tech Corporate College is best equipped to serve our business and industry partners when we deliver the training and certification outcomes they value,” Matt Bell, president, Ivy Tech Corporate College, added.

Ivy Tech staff and faculty will receive full ASQ membership benefits, including access to ASQ’s Knowledge Center, consisting of thousands of articles, case studies and best practices; as well as access to ASQ’s networking opportunities and certification programs. Students will be eligible to join at the national level according to their interest and area of study. Additional membership benefits include access to quality tools that allow organizations to realize greater productivity and performance; apply process improvement techniques more widely; and use quality as a business management tool.

“We are excited about Ivy Tech’s membership — not only because it will provide quality resources to staff and faculty, but because it will provide quality resources to its students and the future of quality,” said ASQ CEO Paul Borawski. “This membership supports Ivy Tech’s mission and demonstrates its commitment to students and the state of Indiana.”

A special signing ceremony for this historic membership will be held at 9:45 a.m., Monday, May 6, immediately following the opening ceremony at ASQ’s World Conference, which is being held in Indianapolis this year.
