Ivy Tech Community College selects Angie Scanlon for Human Resources position

INDIANAPOLIS — Ivy Tech Community College has selected Angie Scanlon to serve as the college’s Executive Director of Human Resources for its Central Indiana region.  She will begin her position on February 1.
 
Scanlon has more than 20 years of experience in human resources leadership, supporting corporate and multi-site, domestic and international headquarters, and field operations of high growth service, technology and manufacturing organizations.
 
She most recently served in a full time capacity as the VP of Human Resources for Ultralife Corporation in Newark, New York, where she directed the human resources strategy for the multi-site, global $160 million public corporation, which employs 800 individuals.  Scanlon performed a broad range of human resources responsibilities including talent management, acquisition, recruiting, organizational development, employee relations, employee retention, compliance, benefits and compensation, performance management, training, leadership and development, as well as succession planning.  She had previously served as Human Resource Director for the organization and as a part-time consultant after her relocation to the Indianapolis area.
 
Prior to her role at Ultralife, Scanlon served as Human Resources Director for UTC Retail, formerly Ultimate Technology Corporation in Victor, New York, where she implemented the company’s overall compensation philosophy, restructured the performance management system, and launched a company-wide talent assessment tool.
 
She has also served as Human Resources Manager for Guardian Industries; Employee Relations Manager for Frontier Communications; and held several  human resources management positions of  increasing responsibility at Mobil Chemical Company.
 
Scanlon earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Missouri Western State University and Graduate Certificate in Industrial Labor Relations from Cornell University.  She also holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Certificate from the HR Certification Institute.
