Ivy Tech Community College announces collaboration with restructured Twenty-first Century Scholars

Ivy Tech Community College announced a new collaboration with the Twenty-first Century Scholars program made possible through the Commission of Higher Education. Beginning this fall, Ivy Tech is providing office locations for Twenty-first Century Scholars regional outreach coordinators at the Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Evansville, Lafayette, Gary, Kokomo, Columbus and Muncie campuses of Ivy Tech. These coordinators are charged with building collaborations with area colleges and universities, school districts, youth-serving organizations and other community-based programs to connect Twenty-first Century Scholars with resources and services aimed at improving college readiness, matriculation and ultimately degree completion rates. Statewide, more than 2,000 Ivy Tech students are in the scholarship program.

Locations across the state were chosen by geographic region and the population density of Scholars in surrounding areas.

The scholarship program recently underwent structural realignment to transition to a more intensive student-service based model that emphasizes college completion and is fiscally sustainable under the State allocation. State funding for the student scholarship component of the program remains intact and will continue. Twenty-first Century Scholars provides up to four years in-state college tuition for qualifying students. For more information, visit learnmoreindiana.org.
