Ivy Tech’s Julie Bilz selected for executive board of National Association of Community College Teacher Education Programs

Dr. Julie Bilz, chair of the education program at Ivy Tech Community College – Columbus/Franklin and board member of the National Association of Community College Teacher Education Programs (NACCTEP), has been elected to serve on the executive committee of the board as secretary, beginning July 1, 2012.  In this capacity, she will represent Ivy Tech at an executive board meeting in September in Washington, D.C., at the American Association of Community Colleges, and at the national conference of NACCTEP, scheduled to be held in March in Dallas, Texas.


The National Association of Community College Teacher Education Programs promotes the community college role in the recruitment, preparation, retention, and renewal of diverse early childhood and K-12 teachers.  In this role, organization members participate in discussions in which the community college teacher education voice is needed; educate decision-makers on issues facing community college teacher education programs; provide forums for membership communication, collaboration, and research sharing; develop partnerships with national education organizations; and strengthen connections with state community college teacher education organizations.
