Just weeks after redefining its role and placing more emphasis on corporate partnerships, Ivy Tech Corporate College is forging a bond with a Columbus-based engineering firm. The new partnership is the first of its kind in the state since the announcement of Ivy Tech Corporate College.
LHP Software is an international engineering services company with expertise in the automotive, industrial, and medical device sectors. LHP plans to expand its current workforce of more than 200 to at least 400 employees within the next three years.
LHP’s experienced employees represent more than 15 countries. The company also recruits new engineers from more than 30 U.S. colleges and universities, providing in-house technical training that bridges the gap between solid education and real-world experience. For both groups, Ivy Tech Corporate College will assist in providing the necessary soft skills and administering the ongoing technical certifications for them to excel.
“Our employees are very well educated,” said Dave Glass, co-founder and CEO of LHP Software. “But as a growing company, we need to make sure our talented technical people also have the skills to become leaders in their field and within LHP. We are continually training our qualified engineers to become even better engineers. Ivy Tech Corporate College will play a critical role in further developing them into project consultants and resource managers so they can increase the value we provide to our clients and advance within our company.”
“This partnership demonstrates perfectly the value of Ivy Tech Corporate College,” said John Hogan, Ivy Tech Chancellor. “Customized training and professional certifications are the best ways that we can help our partners become more profitable and more efficient. That’s the mission of Corporate College.”
Glass added, “The school has a great track record of advancing the educational and economic goals of the state of Indiana. Our operations extend well beyond our home in Columbus, but Ivy Tech Corporate College is the perfect partner for us as we continue to grow in the Midwest, the U.S., and internationally.”
