Ivy Tech Community College–Northeast Welcomes Second Installment of Disney Institute to Fort Wayne

Full-day program explores secrets for creating motivated teams that deliver great customer service

NORTHEAST – Disney Institute is bringing its renowned Disney’s Approach to People Management program to the Holiday Inn Fort Wayne on September 21, 2011.  Hosted by Ivy Tech Community College–Northeast, the full-day event will teach area professionals how to train, develop and retain skilled employees who understand and convey the values of their business to achieve positive economic results.

“This is a rare opportunity for northeast Indiana business professionals to participate in a Disney Institute experience in Fort Wayne,” said Jeff James, vice president for Disney Institute.  “It’s a day of Disney training that will offer dozens of easy-to-implement, proven ideas that can help businesses large and small thrive.”

“Disney’s Approach to People Management “will give participants an “insider’s look” at the Disney approach to selection, training, retention and communication, all of which build a strong, positive corporate culture.  Participants will learn how Disney instills pride and ownership in employees and how any organization can inspire and motivate its own employees.

“In an era where everyone is competing for business and market share, a competent, motivated workforce isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity,” James said.  “This program is made for organizations looking to recruit, retain and manage the best talent they can find.”

The Disney Institute learning experience is unique in the world of training.  More than business theory, the program highlights proven Disney business practices that are easily adaptable to organizations in any industry.  Engaging content is presented in an entertaining fashion, providing participants with tools that can literally transform their organizations.

“Following the huge success of this spring’s Leadership Excellence program, Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast is pleased to bring Disney Institute’s world-class facilitators back with a focus on People Management,” said Chancellor Jerrilee K. Mosier, Ed.D. “We hope the leaders of northeast Indiana’s workforce will again embrace Disney’s management concepts with the same fervor as its leadership tools. Through these efforts, Ivy Tech Community College-Northeast hopes to assist our community agencies and business partners in creating a vibrant and engaged workforce.”

Ivy Tech–Northeast is also partnering with Indiana’s NewsCenter, The Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce and Gordon Food Service to provide this professional development opportunity to the northeast Indiana community.

Program registration is $359 if registered by August 19 (early bird registration) or $399 after August 19.  This price includes all course materials, a continental breakfast and lunch. Employers sending five or more participants receive $20 off each registration. Ivy Tech alumni, students and employees will receive a $20 discount, as well.
