Ivy Tech to host annual statewide Faculty Conference in Evansville on Saturday

EVANSVILLE – Ivy Tech Community College’s Evansville campus will host the annual statewide Adjunct Faculty Conference this Saturday, March 26, 2011 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Over 200 adjunct (part-time) Ivy Tech faculty members from across the state will be in attendance. Ivy Tech Community College President, Tom Snyder, will also be participating in the event.

The featured Keynote Speaker will be Mark Williams, Author of The 10 Lenses: The Key to Better Communication in Today’s Multicultural World. The 10 Lenses is a book, an educational framework, and an exciting live training event that changes the way people thing about race ethnicity and cultural differences. This session will empower participants in their daily interactions in the classroom and workplace. http://10lenses.com/

The annual event is designed to provide professional development opportunities for adjunct faculty members, as well as to honor their outstanding achievements. The Gerald I. Lamkin Award for Excellence in Instruction will be awarded on Saturday to a faculty member who best typifies excellence in instruction and epitomizes the mission of Ivy Tech.

The conference will include concurrent sessions on a variety of innovative topics, including: Teaching in a Postmodern classroom, Teaching with Technological Confidence, Diversity and Communication Effect in the Classroom, and more.
