SELLERSBURG – Ivy Tech Community College graphic design students recently earned awards for their work. The students won six Louie awards from the Advertising Federation of Louisville (AdFed) at a gala celebration at Horseshoe Casino on February 11. Additionally, faculty member Susan Morganti, program chair of visual communications for Ivy Tech Southern Indiana, won an award for the invitation she created for the Ivy Tech Legacy Gala in September 2010.
The Louie Awards showcase Louisville’s best creative talent and is the first round of the American Advertising Federation’s (AAF) ADDY® Awards, the world’s largest advertising competition.
“Our students benefit from the competition, as it gives them a taste of what working at a competitive design firm will be like,” Morganti said. “All of the winning entries took a lot of time and effort, and I am really proud that their work stands up to the judgment of professionals in the design world.”
