LAFAYETTE – Steve Buyer, Congressional representative of Indiana’s fourth district, received the Ivy Tech Community College-Lafayette Distinguished Service Award Monday, December 27, 2010. The award was presented to Congressman Buyer by Chancellor Dave Bathe at his last public appearance as Congressman. The Distinguished Service Award is given in recognition of support of Ivy Tech. Congressman Buyer has shown great support of the college, notably his support of the White County Instructional Center in Monticello where he gave a speech at the opening ceremony.
