Ivy Tech Community College selects director of new Greencastle site

GREENCASTLE – Ivy Tech Community College-Wabash Valley has selected Sharon Bone as the College’s Executive Director of the Greencastle Instructional Site.

As Executive Director, Bone will be responsible for the financial, academic, facility, and human resource management of the Greencastle location in collaboration with the Ivy Tech Community College Wabash Valley campus leadership team.

“Sharon brings a wealth of experience to the Greencastle site” said Dr. Jeff Pittman, Chancellor of Ivy Tech Community College Wabash Valley. “With her arrival, we look to build on recent success, and Sharon will be instrumental in leading the effort to achieve future goals at the campus.”

With nearly 25 years of experience in higher education, Bone most recently served as Dean of the Academic Advancement Division of the Ivy Tech Community College Indianapolis location. She also served as Assistant Division Chair of General Education, Director of Academic Support Services, and Manager of ACCESS Counseling and Support Services/School Psychologist for the College.

“I am excited about my new role at Ivy Tech Community College and am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with such a wonderful community as Greencastle,” said Bone. “The College has received tremendous support from the community and I would like to personally thank everyone who helped make this partnership possible. The College’s mission is to help prepare students for lives as productive and engaged members of society—preparation that services both the students and community. This partnership will truly change lives as it significantly impacts students on a personal and economic level.”

Bone earned her Master of Science in Psychology from Butler University and Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Ball State University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Community Relations.
