Ivy Tech Community College hires statewide director of training

Ivy Tech Community College has selected Taundra Miles for the new position of Statewide Director of Training and Development.  She will join the statewide Human Resources team and will develop and facilitate training and development services to college employees.

In her role, Miles will support the College’s strategic plan by implementing quality improvement initiatives designed to support the improvement of organizational effectiveness.  She will also coordinate and deliver training in critical areas of management/supervisory training, conflict resolution, leadership, communication and customer services, as well as work closely with the regional human resources directors at each of Ivy Tech’s 23 campuses to facilitate training programs across the state.

Miles most recently was an Employee Development Manager with Chip Ganassi Racing where she developed and managed employee training programs.  She has also held numerous roles with Target, including Senior Training Specialist, Regional Training Coordinator and Training Coordinator.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Florida A&M University and a master’s degree in human resources management from Purdue University.  She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Post-Secondary and Adult Education at Capella University in Minneapolis.
